Vrindavan Solanki
1942Vrindavan Solanki was born 1942 in Junagadh, Gujarat.
In 1980 he received his Diploma in Painting from Faculty of Fine Arts, M. S. University in Baroda. In 1982 he received his Post Diploma in Graphics from Faculty of Fine Arts, M. S. University in Baroda.
He had several solo exhibitions:
In 1969, 1971, 1972, 1989 and 1992 he exhibited solo at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai. In 1973 he showcased solo at Triveni Art Gallery, New Delhi. In 1974, 1981, 1983, 1984 and 1985 he exhibited at Taj Art Gallery, Mumbai. In 1975 and 1978 he had solo shows at Max Muller Bhavan, Mumbai. From 1978 - 2011 he had various solo exhibitions in New Delhi, Mumbai, Baroda, Chennai, Mauritius, New York, Pune, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. In 1996, 2001, 2003, 2007 and 2007 he exhibited solo at Cymroza Gallery, Mumbai.
He took part in several group exhibitions:
From 1972 - 1999 he participated in various group exhibitions in Mumbai, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Dubai, London, Germany, Malaysia, Ahmedabad and Chennai. 1976 and 1987 he took part in group shows at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai. In 1991 he took part in the Seventh Triennial in New Delhi. In 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2005 and 2006 he took part in the annual Harmony Shows at Nehru Centre, Mumbai. From 2000 - 2010 he exhibited in group exhibitions in New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Singapore, Bangalore, Baroda, Lahore, Dubai, Nagpur, Goa, Lucknow and Hong Kong. In 2002 he participated in Singapore 2002 - The Contemporary Asian Art Fair in Singapore. In 2002 and 2003 he participated in Bulls & Horses and Print Show at Birla Academy of Fine Arts and Culture, Mumbai. In 2016 he participated in a group show The Melting Pot at Gallery 7, Mumbai.
He received many awards:
In 1966, 1967 and 1987 he won awards at the Gujarat Lalit Kala Academy, Ahmedabad. In 1967 and 1989 he won awards at Kalidas Art Exhibition, Ujjain. In 1970, 1972, 1974 and 1978 he won Art Society of India and Bombay Art Society awards in Mumbai. In 1984 he received the Print Awards for Etching in Udaipur. In 1996 he won an award at All India Art Exhibition in Lucknow.
Vrindavan lives and works in Ahmedabad.
