Ashita Majumdar Ganatra was born in 1981 in Mumbai.

She received her diploma of commercial arts from Rachna Sansad, Mumbai. She completed her photography course from Sir J. J. School of Arts, Mumbai.

She took part in various group exhibitions:
In 2010 she participated in a group show at Tao Art Gallery, Mumbai. In 2012 she exhibited at Gallery BMB, Mumbai. In 2017 she participated in The Winter Sale at Gallery 7, Kalaghoda, Mumbai.

Ashita has received several awards:
In 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2014 she won awards at Px3 (Prix de la Photographie) Awards in Paris. In 2009 and 2010 she received Honorable Mention International Photography Awards.

Ashita lives and works in Mumbai.
