Sanjoy Kumar Das was born in 1972 in Kolkata.

In 1998 he received his degree of Bachelor of Visual Arts from Calcutta University. In 2000 he received his degree of Master of Visual Arts from Calcutta University. In 1994 he received the Ravi Jain Memorial Fellowship in Delhi. In 1994 – 1999 he took part in the Annual Exhibitions of Govt. College of Art & Craft, Kolkata. In 1999 he participated in Ravi Jain Memorial Annual Exhibition in Delhi. In 2014 he took part in CIMA Award Show, Kolkata. He had a solo sculpture show at Kalakriti Art Gallery, Hyderabad. In 2014 and 2016 he took part in the Annual Exhibitions of Birla Academy.

Sanjoy has taken part in several workshops:
In 1999 and 2001 he took part in Dokra casting workshop. In 2000 he participated in Chow Mask making workshop. In 2012 he took part in Stone carving workshop at Koddai Kanal. In 2009 and 2015 he participated in metal casting workshops in CRC and in Odissa.

Sanjoy lives and works in Kolkata.
