Mahavir Patil was born in 1971 in Maharashtra.

In 1994 he received his Art Teacher Diploma from Kala Vishwa Mahavidyalaya, Sangli. In 1995 He received his G. D. in Art from Kala Vishwa Mahavidyalaya, Sangli. In 1996 he received the Diploma in Art Education from Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai.

In 2005 he participated in an exhibition at Kala Academy in Campal, Goa. In 2007 he had a solo exhibition at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai. In 2007, 2009 and 2010 he participated in Fusion Show at Nehru Centre, Mumbai. In 2011 and 2015 he participated in a group exhibition at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai. In 2015 he participated in a group show Spoken & Unspoken at Gallery 7 in Kalaghoda, Mumbai.

Mahavir lives in Badlapur.
