Amit Thombare was born in Nagpur in 1988.

In 2007 he received his art teacher diploma from Yadavravji Keche Chitrakala Mahavidyala, Arvi. In 2012 he received his BFA degree from the Govt. Chitrakala Mahavidyalaya, Nagpur. In 2015 he received his degree in MFA from Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai.

In 2011 he received Late Sudam Doke Award at the 24th All India Lokmanya Tilak Art Exhibition, Pune. In 2012 he received Late Artist Sadanand Bakre Award from the Govt. Chitrakala Mahavidyalaya, Nagpur. In 2012 he received the Govt. Chitrakala Mahavidyalaya fellowship, Nagpur. In 2012-13 he received a Scholarship from the Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi. In 2015 he received the H. C. J. Charitable Trust Award and Late Shri. Vadilal Pitambar Sanghavi Award from Art Society of India.

He lives in Nagpur.
