Bhadra is born in Kolkata in 1916. He completed his diploma in Painting from Govt. College of Art and Crafts, Kolkata -1983 and Diploma in Graphics from M.S.University. He has participated in several shows including All India Contemporary Art Exhibition1988-1995 and 2000, Bombay Art Society 1993-1994 and Annual show of ALFCS, Delhi 1996 and 1997. He has participated in several Group Shows including Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata -1986 and 1990, M.S. University, Baroda -1993, Lalit Kala Academy, Delhi 1995 and 1998 and Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai -1999. He has held several solo shows. He has won several awards including: Bombay Art Society -1993, Junior H.R.D. Fellowship -1995 and 1997 and National Academy Award in 45th National Exhibition of Art -2000. His works are in various collections in India and abroad.
