Sohan Qadri was born in 1932 in Punjab.

In 1960 he received his degree in Master of Fine Arts from Government College of Art, Simla.

He had several solo exhibitions:
In 2004 he showcased Dissolving Contours and Invocation at Sundaram Tagore Gallery, New York. In 2005 he exhibited solo in Next Level at Sundaram Tagore Gallery, New York. In 2005 and 2006 he exhibited solo in The Dot and the Dots & An Exhibition of Work in Gallery II at Sundaram Tagore Gallery, New York. In 2009 he exhibited Prakriti: Contemporary Indian Art at Sundaram Tagore Gallery, Beverley Hills and showcased Seer: The Art of Sohan at Sundaram Tagore Gallery, Hong Kong. In 2010 he had a solo show, Drishti: A New Vision at Sundaram Tagore Gallery, New York. During the course of his career he showcased solo at Gallery 7, Mumbai.

He had several group exhibitions:
In 2008 he participated in group shows, In Your Mind’s Eye and Dimensions of Color at Sundaram Tagore Gallery, New York, Hong Kong and Beverley Hills. In 2009 he took part in Summer Group Show and ‘Here & Now’ at Sundaram Tagore Gallery, Beverley Hills and Hong Kong. In 2010 and 2011 he participated in Facing East: Contemporary Asian Art; he took part in Rasa: Contemporary Asian Art and The Reason for Hope: Group Show at Sundaram Tagore Gallery, New York. In 2011 he took part in Continuum and Constellation at Sundaram Tagore Gallery, Hong Kong.

In 1968 he received an award at Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi. In 1982 he won the I.A.P.A.A. Award in Toronto.

Sohan passed away in 2011.

He was posthumously exhibited in several shows:
In 2012 he was exhibited in Synergy 2012 at Tao Art Gallery, Mumbai. In 2012 he was exhibited in a two person show, Confluence with Zhang Yu at Sundaram Tagore Gallery, Hong Kong. In 2013 he was showcased in Edge of Reason and Beyond, into Pure Creativity at Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi. From 2013 - 2015 he was showcased in several shows at Sundaram Tagore Gallery, Hong Kong and New York.
