Anand Prakash was born in 1981 in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh.

In 2001 he completed his degree in Bachelor of Arts from University of Allahabad. In 2006 he completed his degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts from University of Allahabad. In 2013 he completed his degree in Master of Fine Arts from RMT Music and Art University in Gwalior.

He has had several solo shows:
In 2011 and 2014 he had solo shows, ‘Amurt Ki Anant Yatra’ and ‘Antahkaran’ at Triveni Gallery in New Delhi. In 2012 he exhibited solo, ‘Amurt Ki Anant Yatra - 2’ at Indian Council for Cultural Relations in Bhopal.

He has participated in several group shows:
In 2004, 2005 and 2007 he participated in group shows in Allahabad, New Delhi and Kolkata. In 2005 he participated in the 3rd All India Photography Exhibition at Lucknow Lalit Kala Academy in Lucknow. In 2005 he took part in a group show at Bharat Bhavan in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. In 2007 he participated in a group show at Lalit Kala Academy, Chennai and took part in the 79th Annual All India Art Exhibition of AIFACS at New Delhi. From 2008 – 2010 he took part in group shows in Bhopal, Rajashthan, Mumbai, Kolkata and New Delhi. In 2010 he exhibited in a group show at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai. In 2011 and 2012 he participated in group exhibitions in Thane and New Delhi. In 2011 he took part in ‘Fantasy to Ecstacy to Eternity’ at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai; participated in ‘Myriad Visions’ at Museum Art Gallery, Mumbai and took part in ‘Shimeesha Art Show - Trends of Contemporary Indian Art’ at Ravindra Bhavan, Bhopal. In 2013 he participated in ‘Shimeesha Art Show’ at Faculty of Fine Art Gallery from M. S. University, Baroda and took part in ‘Together’ at Swaraj Bhavan Art Gallery in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. In 2013 and 2015 he participated in group exhibitions in New Delhi, Indore and Bhopal.

He has won many awards:
In 2005 he received an award at the youth festival of Din Dayal Upadhyay University in Gorkhapur. In 2006 he won the State Lalit Kala Academy in Lucknow. In 2007 he won an award at the 79th All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society (AIFACS), New Delhi. In 2010 he won the National Academy Award at the 52nd National Exhibition of Art at Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi. In 2010 he received the Visual Art Junior Artist Fellowship from the Human Resource Development department of the Govt. of India, New Delhi.

Anand lives in Bhopal.
